about

this album is coming to terms with a shitty reality we are all forced to face. we live in a world surrounded by inclusiveness that only a few of us can touch. whether it’s material wealth, or the immaterial idea of what good music is. the past few months i have been stuck living in a personal hell of being a wage slave to a man who is far more better off then me, and better off then what me or my family will ever be. while dealing with this i realized that the music community that connecticut likes to call their own tends to be extremely exclusive. nothing has changed since the days of high school. music that is easy to take in, and easy to think about will always prevail over anything inherently interesting or complex. realizing these things i have come to terms that i am an outsider and always will be. i fit nowhere, and now i take comfort in that. i care no more who listens to my music, or who cares to promote (although if you do i am forever grateful for giving my ideas time). enlightenment is accepting that the shit world around you is out of your control. the only thing i can control is what i create on this earth, and hopefully that will make an effect on others.

in terms of musical content, this album was cathartic to create. it needed to be this way for me to deal with the things around me. i used sounds that i never really used before because of this. this album is more guitar driven, due to the fact that that’s something familiar, in a world that is so unfamiliar. with this album i used things i was used to in ways i was not used to.
